Quiet ferns dipped their sagging leaves into the pool; mocking the larger willow tree that stood a few yards back. He himself was just a sapling, not at all like the white oaks that stood in a oval a moderate distance away from the magic pond. But not a rounded leaf on any of their heads were stirring. The aura was deathly silent and still. It was obvious there was some kind of holy or super-natural power at work nearby.
Eagerly but quietly, a white lady wolf cut through the ring of oaks and pawed cautiously along until she came to the water's edge.
Yayta remembered all too well when her mother had brought her here, when she had turned but a half-year old. She had drunk the spell of the pond; storing it inside of her, training relentlessly until the fae had mastered the element in a way her goddess would see fit.
Slowly, Yayta sat, curling her snow-white flag daintily around her mitts; three also white and one a dirty brown. Her blue eyes were as calm as the water, and she waited patiently for her followers, who she had been checking up on frequently through-out the voyage to make sure all four made it safe and sound. It wouldn't be long now.

Arianna was the first of the family of four to reach the pool. Stepping through a fern, she went to the white lady that was her pack leader now. Arianna sat expectantly by her side, after dipping her head in respect for the fae, waiting for the rest of her family.
Mahki was next to come out. a little reluctant, and quite fearful. But his sister, Kari walked out behind him and gave him a nudge. Taking the lead, Kari walked slowly, and lightly, towards her mother. And Yayta. Kari paused before Yayta, and looked at her with a pride in her eyes. The pup was fearless! she and her brother together could do anything. At least that's what Kari thought.
Last was Thorkil. he had been watching his pups from the ferns. he was proud of them! if there would be hardships, the two of them together would be able to handle what was thrown at them. He almost turned around and left. they didnt need him! he would only hold them back! But he quickly cought himself before he got to far with his thinking. 'of course they need you' he though. 'Arianna needs you to be there for her. and your pups need a father!' He stepped out of the fern he was hiding in and walked over to his mate, sitting down by her side.

(( OoC: Wow! -: points to Ari's post above :- That was absolutely beautiful! ))
BiC: After watching the beautiful family procession, it was all Yayta could do to keep from laughing and crying at the same time. It was all so. . . wonderful. The tales the female alpha had grown up with had all ended in tragedy or mystery. This was the first that seemed to be going well.
Each of the members were unique, and Yayta was curious as to how the magic would manifest itself in them. Within blood the effect was nearly always the same. But fresh blood. . . how would The Alphess's blessing affect them?
As customary, the icy-hued wolfess bowed, black nose almost touching the scared water's surface. In a low tone which was hard to manage without cracking, the fae murmured The Prayer. It was in the ancient tongue, which she had never been able to understand, so at the same time she was saying one thing, in her mind she asked for good fortune and healthiness upon the family of four, and thanked her god for them profusely.
Then, Yayta took a drink; taking a small pool of water cupped in her pale pink tongue. She let it sit in her mouth a moment, enjoying the feeling, before swallowing. The cold liquid left a trail like frozen fire down the inside of her throat, and soon it filled her entire body.
Feeling very refreshed, she now turned to the others. Her blue optics were bluer, and her shoulders squared more majestically.
"Arianna, Kari, Mahki, and Thorkil," the wolfess addressed them in the order they had arrived.
"By drinking of this scared pond you do so solemnly swear to protect Her Majesty's east section of her vale, in a quest for peace and Her return, may it pass or may it fail," she recited from memory, hoping she didn't sound too weird. The words were obviously not her own, and felt odd coming from her own maw.
Yayta realized that this would bug her until she fixed it, but words cannot be unspoken. So instead, she winked at them all and simplified with:
"Bottom's up."

(OOC: why thank you! i actually didnt really like it! i think im losing my touch...but im glad you liked it!)
Kari was the first to drink. they were all just sitting there staring at the glassy surface of the pool, wondering who would go first. when Kari lightly stood up, head held high, and walked over to the pool. she was normally the brave one. but when she was at the pool's edge panic rose in her heart. and she had no idea why. Kari looked back at Mahki for support, he nodded to her and gave an encouraging smile. an almost electrical current was sturring in the air, as if there were more going on between the pups than met the eye.
Kari turned back towards the water, her dazzling green eyes filled with uncertainty, but all fear gone. she slowly bent her head downwards and licked up a small amount of the water. swallowing, she felt more refreshed, and longed for more. she had drunk three large mouthfulls before it happened.
her parents and her brother fell away from her, and eventually, so did Yayta. Kari found herself standing on some open plains, patches of rough yellow gass all around her. Turning around she saw something redish-orange sprinting towards her. a wolf of flame. he set the plain's on fire, standing in the very middle, unscorched by the heat. then came a majestic brown wolf, dust in his pelt. he stomped his large paw on the ground, creating an earthshake. and then shaking his pelt, creating a sand storm. All the while, lady wind was running all around them, containing the fire and dust in one place. so that no damage would be done elsewhere And then then came the water mystress. Crying, making it rain! washing away the floating sand, and the raging fires....
... the burnt plains and the four elemental wolves vanished out of sight, and Kari's eyes refocused to see everyone standing around her again. her mother and father looking at her with worry, ready to sprint forward and grab her. Yayta was in their way, holding them back. her brother crouching down, looking fearful. when he saw her back to normal he ran over to her and put his muzzle next to hers! he was shaking. 'what happened?" he asked her. but not out loud, to her head, the way they had been speaking to each other since they were first born. 'i saw something' she replyed..
"Yayta?" she said to the fae, out loud. "was that supposed to happen?"
"what happened?" Kari's mother asked before the alphena could reply. "i saw something." she replyed, the same words she had said to her brother. then she recounted the whole thing to her parents, her brother, and Yayta.

Face hard-set, the white fatale watched the whole scene unfold before her eyes. She had suspected something would go differently than normal, though not quite to this extreme. Though she did find it slightly odd that the child should call out to her before her own mother. Treading lightly, Yayta made her way to where the little female sat.
She placed her nose atop her head, closed her eyes and breathed once. The youngster's scent was calming, though it wasn't Yayta who needed to be calmed. Kari seemed somewhat disturbed, and rightly so. Born outside the vale, she would have no idea that something like this could happen.
"It appears, child, that you are of nobler blood than you think," Yayta said as she threw her orbs in Thorkil and Arianna's direction with a smile. Had they known and just not told her? Who were they descendants of? Gods? Demi-gods, perhaps?
Yayta puzzled over which side it was coming from, or if it took a combination of the two for this to result. Would the rest of them be Seers as well? Just the mixed-bloodéd offspring?
"It sounds, Kari, as though you are describing the Great Battle of Windswept Plains. It's one of two fights my ancestor kept record of and passed far enough along that it reached my auds."
"It seems as though The Alphess has chosen you to be a Seer."
"I've never actually known one myself, and it's a great honor," the lady wolf nodded deeply to the smaller pup; the closest she ever came to a bow.
"Don't worry; it won't happen all the time. Just when it needs to, or when you call upon it. You'll learn in time..." she left the statement hanging in the air. She would learn somehow. The snowy fae had no idea how to teach her, but everything happens for a reason, doesn't it?
Yayta now sat next to Kari, and the line between those who had drunk and those who had not was clear.
"Who's next?" the alpha encouragingly inquired.

"I am." said Thorkil, stepping forward. he had replied to the Fae as fast as possible. he was afraid that if he didn't go now, he never would. "I will go next."
Thorkil wearily stepped towards the pool. he had seen what had happened to his daughter, and he was afraid. though of what? he wasn't sure. perhaps he was afraid of having a vision like his daughter. perhaps he was afraid of not having one! not being special like, no doubt, the rest of his family was.
pulling himself together, Thorkil lowered his muzzle into the pool, feeling its cool water plaster the fur to his skin. he slowly lapped up some water, getting in a good two mouthfuls... ...a sheet of midnight blue covered Thorkil's eyes. he saw only the water. A dark haze of midnight blue, the same as his eyes, surrounded his whole body. leaving him in darkness. but not whole darkness! there were flashes of bright light, like lightening. the power in the air was thick. water was pulled out of the pool and into the air, surrounding Thorkil and circling around him.
Then all at once, the water dropped back into the pool, the haze dissapeared, and lastly, the midnight blue crept back across his eyes and was gone. Thorkil sat down, exsausted. Arianna ran up to him an licked his ear, sitting down beside him so their flanks touched.
"What was that Yayta?" Thorkil asked. "That was nothing like my daughter explained! are we that different?"

The alphena wrinkled her muzzle as she frowned.
"Did you really believe to be that similar?" After asking she felt bad. True, Thorkil's children looked nothing like him and very much like their mother, but who was Yayta to judge their personalities? Looks weren't everything, and often were deceiving.
For a moment the white wolf felt like apologizing and then comforting the ebony brute. However, she hadn't know Arianna well enough to know how she would take another female talking with her mate. Though they did seem a confident match...probably nothing Yayta would do unintentionally would cause any sort of rift between them. Then again, if they were so close, then wouldn't be being comforted by another just seem stupid?
The female shrugged. "If all deer were the same size, how would the herd function? Don't they need the biggest for fighting and the smallest for company? Kari's just a special cub."
"If everyone saw the past, what mystery would there be to solve? What purpose would we have for living? Is it not a good thing then, that you were given an elemental gift, simple enough that you can aid your daughter if she needs it and complex enough to keep you busy?"
"I realize you don't know my goddess, but she wouldn't do anything without a reason, and she wouldn't have a reason without a good intention."
The chalk-covered femme realized now just how much she had been talking. It seemed that all the information she had ever learned, but never needed speak of as everyone else she knew already had such knowledge, just continued to pour out and out further still.
"Next," she said simply before Thorkil or herself could say anything else.

Thorkil had listened to Yayta. And he agreed. no longer did he feel bad that his wasnt like his daughters. but was glad that he had something that would be useful, more than likely, in the days to come.
As the alphena asked who was next, Mahki was trying to decide weather he wanted to go at all. he was afraid of what lay ahead. but then he felt his sister's presence. she soothed him, telling him that it wasnt that bad, he could do this.
Mahki cutiously walked forward. "Ill go next" he simply stated. walking forwards, he lowered his head. when he got to the pool, he looked at him self in the reflection. 'just like my sister' he thought. he was proud to look like his sister, it almost made him think that he was as strong as her..'you are' said the strong presence of her in his head. 'you are just as strong as me. maybe even stronger. we will find out.'
He lowered his tounge into the water, just letting it sit there for a couple of seconds. then he took a drink. the water was cold and refreshing, better than any water he'd ever tasted before. he took a few more drinks.
Everyone fell away from him, his mother and father, his sister, and Yayta. and he found himself standing on an open plain, he assumed it was the same one his sister had talked about. But this time was different than hers. Fire didnt come running up and attacking! instead, he ran up, and pounced on another wolf. a brown wolf with dust in his fur. they started playing! Mahki found water crouched low in the grass, witenessing this playfulness...wind was nowhere to be seen...
....the scene fell away from him and were replaced by his mother, father, sister, and Yayta. they were looking at him curiously. but not with fear, as they had with kari's vision. "Mom!" was the first thing he yelled. And he ran and curled up against her.
"You all have to hear this!" he said to them all. And he told them what he saw.
(OOC: note: their visions arent what ACTUALLY happens! its just an idea of the real events. i just thought of that now..:D)

The white alphena smiled.
"Little one, let us pray you're seeing the future."
He must be, after all. Far as the she-wolf knew, Earth and Fire didn't play together, even back before he revolted. The Earth-Master hadn't liked that Fire played so rough, especially with fire being it's weakness element.
So there was peace to come.
Yayta cast her gaze skyward. Though The Alphess had left them and no longer dwelt in the sky or her moon-home, the female was still amazed and comforted by the thought of the goddess's brilliance.
Looking at the pair of brother and sister, both with opposite grey-tipped harks, each completing the other. One was bold, the other seemed to not only feed off that, but keep her from getting too out of hand. The male was timid, but seemed to bring reason to whatever adventure the twins were tackling. And now one gazed into what was to come and the other what had passed. They completely balanced each other. Yin and Yang popped into the female's head, and she shook it from her thoughts, smiling.
Now only Arianna had yet to drink. Looking into her pools of seawater, a beautiful shining eden, Yayta smiled and tilted her head toward the water, indicating it was now her turn to drink and truly become a member of the Water Pack.
(( OoC: I don't know why you're visions shouldn't happen, unless the character they involve doesn't agree in which case I don't know, there can be a post about them struggling to change their destiny, or blah. And actually, Mahki's latest prophecy can happen quite easily. I'll just force Uran to play with Mahki someplace ( there are actually a couple plains boards...I didn't realize that when I made them... ) And if she refuses I'll break her thumbs ))

Arianna was a bit reluctant. but she knew it was her turn. she couldn't turn back now, when everyone else in her family had gone. She slowly walked towards the shining pool, aware of her pups eyes on her. she turned to look at them both, sitting next to each other, one the mirror image of the other. she smiled. never in her life had she ever guessed she could give birth to such talented and gifted pups.
When arianna was at the pool's edge she quickly lapped up a few mouthfuls of water. she could not drink slowly like the rest of her family, she was to anxious to get it over with. She noticed that the water was VERY refreshing! giving her an energy she hadn't felt in a long time!
All of a sudden an electric blue color, almost white, seemed to creep across her eyes. she was freaked out by this, until she remembered that it had happened to her mate, just with a darker color. She tried to relax, and gave herself into all that was happening, and all that would. A kind of haze surrounded her, the same kind of electric blue as her eyes. She was left in the light. Arianna couldn't help but realize that, she was left in the light, while her mate, was left in the dark. 'could this be some sort of sign?' she immediately chased the thought out of her head! Thorkil was not darkness!
Some of the water from the pool surrounded her, circling. Around and around and around, in a whirlpool like way. Surrounding her completely. cutting her off from her pups, her mate, and Yayta. it was a bit overwhelming for arianna, and she started to wimper..
..and then it was over. the water slowly fell back into the pool, making just a small splash. the haze drifted away and was gone. And the electric color of her eyes disappeared, returning to their natural eden color. Arianna sat down and lowered her head. she had been scared, and was glad that it was all over. Thorkil came up beside her, comforting her. For he knew what she was going through.
Arianna looked up at Yayta. "That was peculiar." was all she said, because it was all she could think of.
(OOC:no, i mean, like, their visions, or at least Kari's, arent The EXACT way they happen. like, they simbolize something. and then the character(s) have to figure out the real events from the simbolic ones..or something like that. (oh, and it was the fire and earth wolves that played, not earth and water) and thats cool that there actually are plains! i didnt know that..i just made those parts up!)

(( OoC: Oh no! I totally mis-read that, oh crap, now I feel like an idiot. I thought you meant Mahki was playing, oh dear oh dear, my entire reply was off. Here, I'm going to go back and re-do that, Arianna I'm so sorry I'm so dumb. Don't worry, I'll make it so your post will be fine, and yeah, now I understand what you meant by not really real, with that whole symbolic thing. But omg! I can't believe I read that wrong! I'm really, really sorry ))
BiC: It wasn't just the pups, the entire family seemed to fit with each other. Thorkil's mist had been shrouded in darkness, Yayta hadn't really took note of that until she noticed how incredibly light Arianna's was. It would seem as though one had darker thoughts, and one was more caring or forgiven, or whatever light symbolized, Yayta could no longer recall.
Seeing them comforting one another, the snow-colored she-wolf had an idea.
"Arianna, Thorkil," she began, coming closer to them until she was right in front of the couple. Yayta plopped her white rump upon the lush grass, and cleared her throat.
"Now that you are both official members of the Water Pack. . ." the wolfess stopped a moment, smiling. "What say you to being the Beta male and female?"
She hoped they were like the idea and take it. The moon-dusted fatale had hopes that others would be joining her pack soon. She took this family's arrival as a sign. Besides that, whilst the others had been drinking, Yayta had been keeping an ear open to listen to the water, in case it spoke. It seemed as though something was happening near Silver River. . . or was it Silver Steam?
Either way, something was occurring in one of those terra's, be it Wind or Fire. It seemed as though The Alphess's vale was finally coming to view in the world outside the circle, finally un-veiled. Yayta was hopeful that peace would soon be coming.

"What say you to being the Beta male and female?"
Arianna was shocked! They had only just joined the pack! surly, and alpha/alphena should wait to get to know a wolf/wolves before appointing them beta male/female! She looked at Thorkil. The shock reflected in his eyes as well. surely they should think this over first- "we would be honored." Thorkil blurted.
Arianna had no idea why all of a sudden he was so interested! yes, she knew he had been having doubts about this pack. She stared at Thorkil, even more shocked now. He looked back at her, his eyes almost pleading for this spot. She melted. Thorkil really had the most captivating eyes, and he could make her do anything he wanted with them. She smiled in spite of herself. What had she become? that she listened to a male wolf?..."yes," she agreed with Thorkil. "we would be Honored!"
(OOC: its fine! dont feel like an idiot!!! i misread things ALL the time! its okay!)

Huzzah! Having Betas to share things with and be able to consult really took a load off of Yayta's mind. True, had they been hunters or omegas, she would have ended up doing the same thing. But there was just something about a title, something special, that added luster and trust. The pale alphena beamed.
"I too, am honored. By all of your presence."
Suddenly recalling the eagerness she had seen at the borders, Yayta chuckled.
"I'm sure you all have a lot to talk about. The land is yours as much as mine, now. Transverse where ever you please, and enjoy yourselves."
"I happen to have a bit of business I need to take care of, but consider yourselves all invited to the dens at night fall. It's behind the waterfall, I'm sure you'll see what I'm talking about."
And with a nod of her head as a final salute, the female slipped between the oaks and disappeared. Though she and the other alpha's weren't on the best of terms right now, no one would be able to refuse good news. Yayta couldn't wait to inform them all that, like how life and all good things began, The Alphess's return had sprung from water.
(( OoC: Ummm, go ahead and post in the Unclaimed Terra if you'd like. I'll role play a loner passing through so you have something to do until the others are free or more people join. Unless you aren't sick of Yayta, in which case post at the den and we can talk more then. Or trespass somewhere not realizing where you're going and get yelled at by another alpha and members or watch a fight or do however your little heart pleases, dearie ^^ ))
